Juan C. Zapata formally requested the County Administration to implement a building moratorium in West Dade until traffic issues are properly addressed and real traffic solutions are implemented.

WORKED TO STOP RED LIGHT CAMERAS
Juan C. Zapata opposed red light cameras, which today are a government ploy to raise money under the guise of improved safety. “All stop” intersections have proven to be just as effective at reducing accidents without increasing rear-end collisions and at a lower cost.
IMPROVING OUR PARKS
Juan C. Zapata brought millions of dollars for park improvements that include: proper lighting, increased walkable and biking areas, community centers, play areas, and free wifi access.
Juan C. Zapata supported various police initiatives and community safety programs while ensuring the investment in neighborhood infrastructure projects including drainage, and reconstructing/resurfacing sidewalks.
